Valley Fire Story & Reflections on Emergency Preparedness
In 2015, I was displaced from my home in Northern California’s rural Lake County by the record-setting Valley Fire, leading me to initiate coverage of the disaster on our community radio station and ultimately to become a certified first responder and teacher of emergency preparedness.

When an historic wildfire ripped through Lake County near Napa Valley, CA, volunteers at a low budget radio station took to the airwaves to help hold their community together.
